Our Fundamental Mission

Kompul is built on a foundation of absolute trust. This Privacy Policy governs all assets and services owned by Janara Nguon (operating under the name Kompul), including:

  • The web application (app.kompul.com)
  • The showcase website (kompul.com)
  • The educational platform (survivebackpacking.com)

Janara Nguon is the legal entity responsible for your data (the "Data Controller"), and this document is our operational plan for protecting your privacy.

1. Information We Collect

To conduct this operation efficiently, we only collect the essentials (Minimization Principle).

Financial Data (Your Input):

We collect information that you voluntarily enter (income, expenses, debts, goals). Important Note: This data is collected for personal organization and AI analysis purposes, and not to perform regulatory investment due diligence (KYC).

Account Information:

Your email address and authentication credentials (managed by Google Identity Platform).

AI Interactions:

When you interact with the "AI Coach", the content of your questions and the contextual financial data necessary for the response are processed temporarily by our systems.

Analytics Data (Telemetry):

We collect anonymous data on app usage (pages visited, errors) via Google Analytics to improve the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data has one purpose: to help you achieve your financial freedom mission.

Providing the Service:

Calculate your metrics (Survival Runway, Net Worth) on your dashboard.

Artificial Intelligence (Processing):

We transmit pseudonymized data fragments to our AI provider (Google Vertex AI) to generate Coach responses and Scam Detector analyses.

AI Guarantee:

Your personal data is NOT used to train Google's public models. It remains confined to your instance.

Communication:

Send you critical notifications (security, updates).

Security:

Detect and prevent fraudulent activities.

3. Arsenal Fortification (Security and Storage)

Your trust is our fortress.

Encryption:

All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (AES-256).

Storage (Firebase):

Your data is hosted on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure.

Location of Retention (Law 25):

Although we are based in Quebec, our cloud service providers (Google) may store backups on servers located in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this cross-border transfer necessary for infrastructure robustness.

Isolation:

Each user's data is logically isolated.

The "No Sale" Doctrine:

We will NEVER sell, rent, or share your financial data with third parties for advertising purposes. Period.

4. Artificial Intelligence and Third Parties

We use trusted subcontractors to operate the Service.

  • Infrastructure & Auth: Google Firebase (USA).
  • Artificial Intelligence: Google Gemini / Vertex AI (USA).
  • Payments: Stripe (Processes your credit card information; Kompul never sees your complete numbers).

5. Your Command and Control (Your Rights - Law 25)

You are the Commander of your data. As a user (and specifically a Quebec resident), you have the following rights:

Right of Access and Rectification:

You can see what data we have and correct it.

Right to be Forgotten:

You can delete your account directly in the application. Your data will be irrevocably erased within 30 days (except for legal tax obligations).

Right to Portability:

You can request a copy of your data in a structured format (CSV/JSON).

Right to Withdraw Consent:

You can stop using AI or the Service at any time.
